26th Chursächsischer Summer

Since 1996, the Chur-Saxon Summer has traditionally opened every year on 1 May as a festival of the European spa region in the Saxon state spa Bad Elster. Until 3 October, around 300 outstanding cultural events of various genres take place in the cultural and festival city of Bad Elster, neighbouring Bad Brambach and in around 40 selected venues in the four-country region of Bavaria | Bohemia | Saxony | Thuringia in the heart of Europe.

The shining "summer residence" of the successful cultural festival is the cultural and festival town of Bad Elster, which truly inspires "royally" with renowned artists and ensembles as well as a fitting supporting programme of concerts in the historic spa gardens, feel-good offers and culinary delights. However, an important part of the Culture Saxon Summer are also the numerous, friendly partners  festival locations, which shape the festival period with cultural tourism programmes. The Culture Saxony Philharmonic Orchestra - as Festival Orchestra in Residence - makes a guest appearance every year on its "summer tour" as a "musical ambassador" in numerous venues worth experiencing, such as castles, churches and concert halls.
