The fourth section of the Upper Lusatian Mountain Trail takes you from Schönbach to Eibau.
After the overnight stay in Schönbach, you will reach the Upper Lusatian Mountain Trail again via a connecting path.
On the way to the landmark of the Kottmar mountain – an extinct volcano – you will pass the so-called »Reiterhaus«. The half-timbered house is one of the oldest of its kind and today houses a local history museum that you should not miss.
The Kottmar, with its 583 meters height, challenges some strength during the ascent. You will repeatedly come across one or the other legend about the mountain. Shortly before the summit, one of the Spree springs emerges, which flows from here via the Spreewald to Berlin, where it flows into the Havel. The Kottmar is also known for its ski jump facilities, which are used both in summer and winter.
