On route 1, starting from Ronneburg or Posterstein, 9 traditional farm gardens can be discovered. At 37 km, this route is slightly shorter than the second.
The almost flat path between Beerwalde and Schwaara leads leisurely through meadows and fields. Discover tranquil villages that have a distinctive charm with their Altenburg four-sided farms. Standing out from the vast landscape is the Beerwalde slag heap, a landmark of the region formerly shaped by uranium ore mining. Designed by renowned artists and offering panoramic views from the slag heap plateau, a visit to the area is a must. Historical craftsmanship can be seen in the "Cobblers' Workshop" museum in Großenstein. Particularly noteworthy traditional farm gardens can be discovered in Korbußen and Trebnitz.
