We start in Dresden at "Ostragehege", directly at the Heinz-Steyer Stadium. The route leads through Dresden Mitte, past the Yenidze. We also pass the Mitte station before rolling through industrial areas on small streets. Now we always ride along the Weißeritz, past the old Feldschlösschen Brewery, towards Freital. Occasionally, a heron and other animals can be spotted on the riverbank. We cross the Saxon district town, roll on bike paths below Windberg, and head towards Tharandt. Here we admire the castle ruins and historic buildings before the strenuous part of the ride begins.
In the town center we turn towards the spa town of Hartha. Now it goes steadily uphill for more than 3 kilometers straight. Then comes the district Spechtshausen. After passing through, wonderful views of the Elbe region to the north open up. In the south we brush the Tharandt Forest. Over Landberg it now goes steeply downhill towards the next larger town of Wilsdruff. The paths there lead over some former light railway tracks, which are very well developed.
In Wilsdruff, a stop in the town center is worthwhile. In the historic town center, the baker offers delicious ice cream. We briefly admire the historic town hall with the oldest glass carillon in the town hall tower before the main street leads us out of town again after this break. After a few meters, we turn right onto Silberstraße and then onto Meißner Straße towards Klipphausen.
The next worthwhile rest stop is already waiting! Neudeckmühle lies directly on our way. Here the refreshment also makes sense because a short steep climb awaits afterward.
The route then leads us straight back in the direction of the Elbe. We roll down the Elbe slope to Constappel, cross the federal road, and come directly to the Elbe cycle path. On this, we ride back towards Dresden and finally arrive again at Ostragehege.
