The Mulde Valley Hiking Trail leads through an unusual natural landscape that was shaped by the power of the river Mulde. Unique flora and fauna combine with a constant change between narrow and wide spaces. Explore typical meadow landscapes and wetlands and encounter some of the most impressive testimonies of Saxony’s age-old history as a region cultivated by men: Along the Mulde Valley Hiking Trail you will find old towns featuring narrow alleyways and magnificent town halls as well as imposing castles and interesting museums. Along the river and on 100 km this hiking trail lets visitors experience 1,000 years of Saxon history in fast motion.
