This demanding route takes us partly along the supraregional ridgeway to Gunzen and via Oberzwota and Kottenheide back to Schöneck.
Through shady forests, past idyllic ponds, we explore nature, relax and enjoy the varied landscapes.
The path is mostly marked red; from Kottenheide we follow the yellow markings along the Kirchsteig back to Schöneck.

Motorway A72 from Leipzig direction, exit Plauen East, via Mechelgrün, Bergen, Poppengrün to Schöneck
Motorway A93 from Bavaria up to Dreieck Bayrisch-Vogtland, then A72 to exit Plauen-South and then via Oelsnitz, Tirschendorf, and Arnoldsgrün to Schöneck

Take line RB1 of the Vogtlandbahn to the IFA-Ferienpark Schöneck stop.
You can use the bus lines "TaktBUS22" coming from Muldenberg, "+Bus90" from Plauen / Oelsnitz, or "TaktBUS93" from Bad Elster to reach the IFA Ferienpark stop and from there start the hiking trail directly. At the hiking and cross-country ski house, you will find changing rooms, lockers, and toilets.
