Borderland route

Start at Schirgiswalde hiking car park at the Gondol pond – cross the bridge – turn right and follow the Spree cycle path to Taubenheim church – there cross “Sohlander Straße”, turn into “Oppacher Weg” – continue to the entrance of Oppach – along the road “An der Spree” – at the junction “Grenzstraße”/“An der Spree” go straight towards Neusalza-Spremberg – along “Taubenheimer Weg” – cross the federal road – “Talstraße” (km 11) – to the next Spree bridge – then left to the inn “Kretscham” – cross the federal road – towards Nieder- and Obermarkt – turn into “Obermarktstraße” – left into “Lindenstraße” – cross the railway bridge – straight towards the adventure pool – before the pool turn left – to the “Rumburger Straße” car park – right towards the district Neufriedersdorf/Fichtelschänke (connection to route 3) – towards Ebersbach – turn right into “Am Hempel” – along “Am Hempel” – turn right into “Friedersdorfer Straße” – right into “Hohe Straße” to the hospital parking lot – turn left into “Königswalder Straße” – at the next intersection turn into “Röntgenstraße” – follow this to the end – about 200 m border crossing (km 22) – cross the border – towards Jiřikov (Georgswalde) – to the town center – detour to Filipov (Filippsdorf) possible (about 5 km round trip) – town center Jiřikov (inn “Beseda”) – towards Šluknov (Schluckenau) – follow the Czech cycle path No. 3043 – cross a small bridge – left past the fish pond (farm track) – towards Rožany (Rosenhain) – after about 2 km Rožany/Sohland border crossing – right into “Rosenbachstraße” – right into “Buschmühlenweg”, left into “Hornbergstraße”, “Industriestraße” - right again into “Rosenbachstraße” to “Straße am Friedenshain”, there left – “Straße am Friedenshain” to railway bridge – right to “An der Aue” – towards the Sohland reservoir – along the Spree to the hiking car park at the Gondol pond
