A bike route for the family leads from Bautzen to the popular Saurierpark. The way there and back also offers beautiful views and experiences!

The route uses the bike path separated from the roadway from the impressive Friedensbrücke heading west. Passing old defensive towers with views of the Spree along with city walls and Ortenburg, you leave the old town. At the roundabout, continue straight, then turn right into Alten Schmoler Weg and continue until you turn left into Schmoler Weg. From the following Salzenforster Straße, turn right into Temritzer Weg.

On Easter Sunday, the Sorbian Easter riders also use Temritzer Weg; they carry the resurrection message on their way from Bautzen to Radibor. Along the way, there are delightful views over the many-towered city and some small monuments to see. From the moderately trafficked small road, you ride to the next intersection, soon seeing the first greeting T-Rex at the Saurierpark parking lot slightly to the right, where you turn left.

Whether it's the "Mitoseum" and the new volcanic landscape in the park, the many play and romp opportunities, or the "Forgotten World" - there is so much to see and experience that a 4-hour or longer stay is worthwhile. Food and drink are of course available at several spots on site.

Once you're done playing, exploring, and feasting, continue to the road and turn left towards Kleinseidau. On this section of the road, which has no alternative for cyclists, caution is advised. Trucks also sometimes use this stretch.

At the Kleinseidau village pond, you can take a break or cycle past some monuments and the cemetery to the playground (via the street "Zum Wasserturm"). Upon arrival in the town center, it is worth stopping at the sisters' houses and the community hall, the church. Sometimes it is open for visits. Proceed via the north-leading Matthäus-Lange-Straße to the B 96 with the bike path separated from the roadway and continue to Cöln, where two impressive architectural monuments await on the left and right sides of the road, one is the famous Kugelhaus. Turning right onto Landstraße, go over Dorfaue and then right to Kronförstchen and straight ahead until you meet the reservoir circuit bike path to turn right. There are opportunities to rest along the way.

After Neumalsitz, follow Stauseestraße and then further on Teichnitzer Straße with a slight ascent on Welkaer Straße. Then head south on Hoyerswerdaer Straße to Dresdener Straße, where there are options for snacks and shopping.
