Domkeller

Přehledně

The Domkeller is the oldest managed restaurant in Meissen and is part of the historic building ensemble of the Burgberg. In the nostalgic ambience guests are spoiled with traditional Saxon and rustic cuisine. From March to October, the terrace with its stunning panoramic view of the old town of Meißen invites you to enjoy and linger.

Dining above the roofs of the old town of Meissen - just a few steps away from the cathedral and Albrechtsburg Castle, you will find the Domkeller, one of the most famous and oldest restaurants in the city. The Domkeller dates back to 1470 and its 600-year-old tradition is also reflected in the medieval flair of the restaurant.  Crooked parlors and loving details such as leaded glass windows and wrought-iron chandeliers give the historic premises a cozy ambience. The Domkeller is divided into several rustic guest rooms: the Domklause, the Domherrenzimmer, the Glöcknerstube, the Dompropsteikeller and the terrace. Of course, the guest rooms can also be used for private celebrations or company events. Whether conferences, concerts, company parties or family celebrations - with the various large rooms, the Domkeller offers the right location for small and large groups and every occasion. However, the Domkeller is not only a treat for the eye and the well-being, but also for the palate and offers a variety of culinary delicacies, ranging from Saxon potato soup to crispy pork knuckle and various fish dishes. In all dishes, much emphasis is placed on the use of regional and fresh ingredients. Fine Saxon wines and freshly tapped beers complete the offer.
