Show days at the traditional Wendt & Kühn manufactory in Grünhainichen: Finally experience masterful craftsmanship again

On May 10 and 11, 2025, the doors of the Wendt & Kühn manufactory will open for the Show Days. Daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors can experience how cheerful flower children and the world-famous Elfpunkte angels are created by hand in the workshops - with friends, with the whole family or as a wonderful opportunity to spend time together on Mother's Day. Of course, visitors will also encounter the delicate daisy angels with their striking flower headdresses in a variety of ways - they are celebrating their 100th birthday this year. Admission is free.

Experience masterful craftsmanship: On a tour of the workshops, visitors can look over the shoulders of the artisans, marvel and talk shop. They learn how the filigree figures are skillfully glued, "dipped" and painted. The wood store and the turnery provide an insight into the world of wood and its processing. It is possible to explore the workshops on your own or join a guided tour.

A colourful program for the whole family invites you to linger - while creating at the crafting street, tying flower wreaths at the floristry stand or enjoying coffee and cake in the Schautage Café. A photo in the heavenly decorated photo backdrop will keep the memory of this day alive.

Musical enjoyment for Mother's Day: On Sunday afternoon, the vocal ensemble "ExperiPent" (presented by the Sächsische Mozart-Gesellschaft e.V.) will not only make mothers' hearts beat faster with cheerful sounds. At 2pm and 3pm, the five singers will captivate visitors at the Mother's Day concert in the manufactory garden.

Special exhibition 100 years of daisy angels: In the historical area of the Wendt & Kühn world, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of filigree celestial messengers. The new special exhibition "Light as a feather and heavenly beautiful - the daisy angels from Wendt & Kühn" takes visitors on a journey back in time to 1925, when designer Olly Sommer, later Wendt, created the first of these heavenly messengers. The delicate creatures with the eponymous daisy wreath are presented in an unprecedented wealth of historical designs. Figures, music boxes, old drawings, photographs and documents from the company archive are used to explore the creative nature of the daisy angels and the question of what makes them so unique.
