From 2 September to 8 October 2023, organic farms throughout Saxony will be opening their doors under the motto "Enjoy Organic. Experience the region. and invite visitors into the world of organic farming. With over 90 events and a colourful programme from Lusatia to Leipzig to the Ore mountains, there is plenty on offer!
Whether it's harvesting pumpkins together in the field, pressing juice from fruit you've picked yourself or celebrating and feasting - there is something for everyone. Farm and production tours offer a glimpse behind the scenes of Saxony's agriculture and food industry, workshops give visitors the opportunity to experience the production of organic food at first hand, and they can even get hands-on in the fields and harvest the crops themselves.
In addition, there are numerous farm festivals and hands-on activities for young and old: face painting, horse-drawn carriage rides, pumpkin carving and much more - the perfect weekend programme for the whole family. And of course, there is no shortage of tasting the delicious regional specialities, which either come fresh from the field or are made in the workshop itself.
