The Chemnitz Christmas Market traditionally opens from 01 December to 23 December 2023 on Mondays to Thursdays from 11:00 to 20:00, on Fridays from 11:00 to 21:00, on Saturdays from 10:00 to 21:00 and on Sundays from 10:00 to 20:00 on the market square of the city of Chemnitz.
On Friday, 01 December 2023, Chemnitz opens its doors to the reflective days of the year, and the splendour and cheerfulness of Advent are admitted. Until 23 December, the extensive area around the town hall will be transformed into an Erzgebirge Christmas world with a total of 230 stalls. The traditional Chemnitz Christmas market is particularly impressive due to its authenticity and its typical range of Erzgebirge folk art, local specialities, Christmas treats of all kinds and beautiful gift ideas.
Special highlights this year are once again the medieval market and the varied stage programme. The festive backdrop of the new city centre, illuminated by the glow of thousands of lights in tempting shop windows, make the pre-Christmas experience complete for visitors from near and far.
