On the border to Lausche

The start is at Seestern. Keep left past the "House on the Lake" always close to the lake until you see the X-Terra markings. Follow these now until below the Scharstein. Now it goes slightly uphill to the right, a bit more technical, before you reach the first rocky descent. You now cross the asphalt road leading up to Töpfer twice. Stay on the Töpfer road until Oybin; since the road goes through a residential area, please slow down again after the adrenaline rush. Follow the main road until it goes right into the town center onto Thomasweg. After a few hundred meters, go right uphill on Kuhsteig. Your next goal is Jonsberg at a height of 653m. After that, you've earned the descent. It goes quite fast down to the scree path; keep right before turning left after a few meters past the mountain pool. At appropriate temperatures, a small swim break is worthwhile. From here, it goes steadily uphill quite comfortably, first on a road, later on forest paths to the border path; enjoy the quiet and use the time to recharge. Now it's time to have fun because the border path is challenging. Here you can prove your riding skills uphill but especially downhill. There are two key points in particular; one starts at Falkenstein and the second comes shortly after the uphill. It's worth checking both points beforehand; the first has a few drops and wooden steps, the second consists of two tight hairpin bends with a railing. Follow the border path further to the Rübezahl cabin. From here begins the strenuous uphill to Lausche, but don't despair, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view and a fine descent. The downhill is quite challenging again, and you should feel comfortable in steep terrain. The downhill leads back to the Rübezahl cabin; we leave it on the left and continue straight on the Hohlsteinweg. A forest path downhill where you can catch your breath for a moment. At Rosenthaler Hut, it goes briefly uphill to the Father-Always path, a fantastic trail with an equally fantastic view of Jonsdorf. Always stay on the path until you have asphalt under your tires again, left onto Lauscheweg and initially only straight through Jonsdorf (Mühlbergweg, Auf der Heide). Further left, Am Hieronymus, past the school. Those who want can of course also go via the Hieronymus guard; the paths meet again. It goes past the war memorial to the last descent through the forest and over a meadow path to the road at Steinbüschel. From here it goes comfortably on side roads and forest paths back to the starting point at the lake.
