The Vogtland region round Klingenthal and Markneukirchen is also called “Musikwinkel“ (corner of music) because in this remote corner of about 100 square kilometres of hilly countryside, musical instruments of all kind are being produced to be used in concert halls around the world, no matter if in a classical orchestra or by a pop star. However, the atmosphere in this corner of the world is pleasantly modest. The locals are not prone to boasting and delivering the best quality when making instruments goes without saying for them. Each small town from Klingenthal to Zwota offers the opportunity to stop by a factory producing instruments or see a collection of musical instruments. Along the way, there are also 28 rental and charging stations for e-bikes. Once you’ve reached the traditional spa towns of Bad Brambach and Bad Elster, you can continue on the Elster Cycle Route, or, near Schöneck, join another route (“Kammroute“) to continue through the Vogtland and Ore Mountains.
